本紹介
韓国の文化遺産
韓国の人々は自国の文化に大きな自負心を持っており、そうするに値する十分な理由があります。高句麗、百済、新羅の古代三国時代(前１世紀～後７世紀)には世界で最も仏教文化を誇りました。高麗時代(918～1392)には見事な像嵌青磁を生産しました。この時代には印刷文化が大いに発展し、ヨーロッパよりも200年早く金属活字本が印刷されました。また、仏教経典の「高麗大蔵経」は世界で最も幅広い経典の集大成であり、8万以上の木版に作製されました。朝鮮時代(1392～1910)には雨量計(1441)、コブクソン（亀甲船、16世紀後半）、韓国固有の文字ハングルなどが作られました。この本はその以外、韓国の文化遺産や独特の慣習が説明されています。
韓国への理解
長い歴史の中で韓民族の伝統は綿々と受け継がれ、独特の慣わしを持つ豊かな文化を発展させてきました。この本は日本の人々に韓国を正しく理解するために企画されました。1章は韓国のユネスコ世界文化遺産が生き生きした写真とともに説明しています。2章には外国人が韓国に慣れた文化からよく知らない風習まで紹介されています。
